Foundation Chicago is a Mixed Martial Arts community organization and center for adults and children in the inner-city’s beautiful Pilsen neighborhood. Our small-group classes apply a thoughtful pedagogy that features differentiated curricula and low student-teacher ratios to provide a uniquely student-centered and welcoming environment for learning community self-defense and physical fitness.

All of our coaches are experienced competitors and fighters-turned-teachers who are committed to justice liberation in the world and safe learning on the mats.

We are proud to be a haven for marginalized peoples and their allies in what is often a reactionary MMA world. We provide scholarships for selected families’ children to train in the martial arts to develop communication, violence prevention, and teamwork skills while having fun and exercising.

We also work with other community organizations and community schools to provide classes and seminars to children and families at no-cost to the clients, as well as conduct free community self-defense seminars regularly at our own location.
